Dragan Bjelogrlić biografija

Dragan Bjelogrlić is one of the greatest Serbian actors, directors, and producers. In addition to a successful acting career, he has dedicated the last two decades to producing and directing films and TV series, thus becoming one of the most recognized and successful filmmakers in the entire region.

Dragan Bjelogrlić was born on October 10, 1963, and after completing primary and secondary school in Belgrade, he enrolled in the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, where he graduated in 1989. At the age of 15, he had his first role, portraying Sava Jovanović Sirogojno in the film "Boško Buha", after which he appeared in significant domestic film and TV projects. Over his 40-year professional career, Dragan Bjelogrlić has appeared in more than 90 films and TV series, while also performing in productions at major domestic theaters.

In early 1994, he founded the production company "COBRA FILM," which is behind some of the most famous feature films, TV series, and theater productions. As a director, Bjelogrlić has helmed 7 films and TV series, while as a producer, he has worked on 13 significant Serbian cinematic titles. Throughout his long career, he has also excelled as a writer and screenwriter of numerous works.

As a director, he made his debut with the film and TV series "Montevideo, Bog te video," which broke all previous box office records, and the film was selected to represent Serbia at the Oscars.

Following that, he achieved great success with the series "Senke nad Balkanom," which became the first Serbian TV series to be broadcast on the Amazon Prime platform.

Immediately afterward, in 2021, Bjelogrlić directed and produced the film "Toma," which became the most-watched Serbian film in the last 20 years, with over a million viewers. Just two years later, he brought the captivating story of "Čuvari formule," about a nuclear accident in Vinča. Besides winning numerous awards at prestigious international festivals from Locarno to Beijing, "Čuvari formule" also became the highest-grossing domestic film in 2023.

Dragan Bjelogrlić has received all significant acting awards, more than 20 international recognitions for his directing and producing work, as well as numerous awards for his contribution to the development of culture and the arts. For over 30 years, he has been an active participant in the social dialogue aimed at establishing democratic values.

Three years ago, he founded a Master class at the Faculty of Media and Communications, University of Singidunum in Belgrade.

He is married to Maja Bjelogrlić, with whom he has a daughter, Mia, and a son, Aleksej.
