Miodrag Majić was born on November 17, 1969, in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1995. He obtained his master's degree (2003) and doctorate in the field of criminal law in 2008, both from the same faculty.
In his career so far, he has worked as an associate at the District Public Prosecutor's Office (1996-2000), a judge and spokesperson of the First Municipal Court in Belgrade (2000-2005), president of this court (2005-2009), and a judge at the Court of Appeal in Belgrade (from 2009 to the present). In the meantime, he represented the Republic of Serbia at the International Criminal Court (2009-2012) and participated in drafting the most significant current laws in the field of criminal law (Criminal Procedure Code, Law on International Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, Law on Confiscation of Assets Acquired by Criminal Offense, etc.).
He has authored and co-authored ten professional monographs and more than thirty articles in the field of criminal and international criminal law.
He teaches as a visiting professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade (appointed to the position of research associate in 2009) and at the Faculty of Law, University Union (appointed as associate professor in 2022).
Regularly, he writes and edits the "Judge Majić's Blog"www.misamajic.comand appears in the media and at professional gatherings speaking on issues of judicial independence, human rights, and criminal law. He has participated in numerous domestic and international professional conferences, presenting papers and lecturing.
He has received the "Knight of the Profession" award (2016), the "Balkan Heroes" recognition (2018), the "Verica Barać" award (2019), and the "Contribution of the Year to Europe" recognition (2019).
He is the founder and a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Judicial Research (CEPRIS)(http://www.cepris.org/).
In addition to law, he has various interests. He is involved in writing, photography, and music. He has published a collection of stories "In the Name of the People" (2019) and novels "Children of Evil" (2019), "Pelican Island" (2020), and "The Mine" (2022).
He speaks English and Russian.
He lives in Belgrade with his wife and three children.
